Write a paragraph on each of the following:
1. What did you learn about “lifelong wellness” from taking this activity class?
The part I found most fascinating in this class was reading about the benefits of flexibility. I already knew that exercise and diet were important but I didn't know that stretching improves joint health. Stretching is something that is easy and can easily be incorporated into the day. It doesn't take a lot of time to do some stretching. Yet the benefits in flexibility and joint health are greatly improved.
2. How would you apply this information to your life?
Sometimes I find that there really isn't time to go walking but there always seems to be a little bit of time to stretch. I don't have to go anywhere to stretch and I don't need to do it for 30 minutes for it to helpful. I have found that even just stretching for a few minutes seems to help improve my attitude and how I feel. When I feel good I'm more active. If I'm more active I'm more inclined to go out and exercise. Exercise and diet are also important and shouldn't be eliminated but stretching is something I can add to what I'm already doing.
3. What is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?
I intend to keep exercising even if it is just walking. Having had a parent die at a young age has shown me that diet and exercise are important for the heart. I want to be around to be a grandma and I want to be able to play and interact with my grandkids. I feel it is important to try and stay healthy so I can have these opportunities.
4. General ideas for improving this course?
I really liked the lay out for this course. I liked being able to be able to go through the module and turn in the necessary assignments along the way. I prefer this layout to Blackboard. I really like that it is all there together in one spot.
