I got married when I was 18. My husband and I have been married almost 15 years. We have seven children ranging in age from thirteen to two. I have been a stay-at-home mom for almost 14 years. Many people might think a stay at home mom just sits at home doing nothing but that has not been the case for me. My husband is a teacher and I work hard to make it possible for me to be at home with our young children.
I raise a garden every year and then put up the food from our garden. Two years ago I put up over 1100 jars of fruits, vegetables, sauces, relishes, jams, and other things. I also fix many of the things that break around the house while my husband is at work. I have replaced car batteries, worked on our roof, replaired leaky pipes, lit pilot lights, and taken apart washers. I also currently work with a group of cub scouts and am learning a lot while doing that.
My biggest goal in life is to be a good mom. Other things that interest me are teaching, horticulture, and writing. From the time I was little I always had an interest in telling stories. Recenlty I decided to send a manuscript in for a children's story I wrote. Although my manuscript may be rejected this has really piqued my interest in pursuing writing.
