Astronomy Reflection
My final paper in astronomy was really a learning experience. I had never before handled a telescope. That is part of why I wanted to get a telescope to use for this assignment. The telescope I bought did not have very good instructions with it. I thought I understood how mirrors worked, but found that it was harder than I expected. This has truly been a hands-on learning experience.
The part I really like about it though is seeing the moon’s surface for the first time and sharing it with my husband and boys. One of my sons is a hands-on learner and he really wanted to be involved in carrying the telescope, setting it up, and actually positioning the telescope. It was neat to see him take such interest in what I was doing. I am excited to pursue this with him and to see where it goes.
